Lately, I've been called a ginger a lot...

All right. This just needs to stop.
A ginger called "coppercap" has been getting a lot of press recently
. I know he is trying to fight for the gingers, but he is really making things worse for himself. Let me try to elaborate on his misguided perception of being a ginger.

1. "It irritates me, when South Park says, that gingers don't have souls."
Red-haired people don't have souls. Nietzche killed god years ago with logic, and later on god did the same thing - nobody has souls.

2. "Lately I've been called a ginger a lot - a fat ginger."
I would just let you (the reader) do the math here, but just to be clear:
A) He has red hair and freckles = Ginger
B) His body mass index looks to be above average. I'm not saying, that should be cause for deragatory remarks, but hey - he is technically a fat ginger.

3. Posting a video about how sad you are that people are picking on you in school will somehow stop them from doing so.
I'm sorry folks, Web 2.0 does NOT work like that. If you told people at school that you were hurt by their remarks, they would make more fun of you. By putting it on youtube you multiply the chances of being ridiculed so many times, that you can't fathom it.
The smart thing to do (and the thing gingers have been doing for years) is toughen up. If you know someone is gonna call you a fat ginger, you have to be able to do one or more of the following options:
A) Laugh at it
B) Laugh and make a joke about being a fat ginger
C) Laugh and make a joke about your persecutors ancestry (best to involve farm animals)
CII) Better yet make the joke before he gets the ginger-line in. Being called a fat ginger is a relatively boring slur. Being called the unfortunate by-product of a severe mixup at the local Zoo is not, and after a couple of beatings, people will start to chuckle at your inventive slurs.
D) Going all "ginger on his ass". Well. This option ties in with the fact, that the ginger genome can develop in two ways;
1) The "nerdy" ginger, that is the most common example of our beautiful mutation.
2) The "Bat-shit crazy" ginger, that is the black (or red, if you will) sheep of the family, is very different. What sets them apart from the rest of us is, that they are able to go crazy at the flick of a switch. They have learned that being red-haired puts them in an exposed position, and that the only way to counter that, is going on the offensive. And boy, do they know how.
I must say, that I can not endorse trying to become the Type 2 ginger (T2 for short), as it is an ability that is formed at an early age, and trying to mix the two types can have disturbing effects. So please stick to your type.

4. "I act like it doesn't hurt me (when they make fun of me), but it does."
See what you did there? That's right - the sensible thing. I cannot stress this enough: if someone says bad things to you: toughen up, avoid them, talk to your friends/siblings/parents. Don't cry at the bullies, don't tell the teachers, and chief among alle the dont's STAY OFF YOUTUBE.

5. "I go to church, I'm a christian."
(See 1.)

6. "You don't know me, you're not god."
These are both valid statements. Sadly they have no relation to the argument he is trying to make and are therefore pointless.

7. "hurrrrr" + "uururururr"
Not sure what the point is here, but I think it is an attempt at mind-control. Can any non-gingers comment if it works? It seems to have an adverse effect on me, making me want to write long texts about why he is wrong.

8. "You're not god, you don't know who has a soul, and who doesn't."
Ok, so he was trying to make a point earlier. But I'm gonna have to counter with 1.

9. "I've contemplated suicide and all sorts of things."
My bad, that should have been included in the list of options earlier. But seriously, don't suicide - school only lasts for so long. And again, enough with the videos. On top of that suicide hurts families all over the world, and should not be used to prove a point against a tv show.

10. "I consider ginger to be a very slanderous word. Everyone else get's respect; white people, black people, mexicans. Why do gingers have to be put down so much?"
I'm sorry, WHAT? Is he trying to say, gingers are having a harder time than black people and mexicans? There was no Ku Klux Klan against Gingers, gingers aren't the butt of any joke about low-paid workers. Is he trying to say we need Conan O'Brien for President or something? I am baffled. The various words that are used to describe a black person or a mexican person have something called "connotation". That means, that they have meanings in them, that go beyond the one meaning. I am not going to into any specific racial slurs, but suffice to say, that most of them have a historical or meaningful connotation that make them very hurtful to groups of people. "Ginger" has been used in ONE tv show some years ago. It's not like it's a word that brings slavery, years of poverty and abuse to mind. It brings an image of Cartman as a ginger to mind. That cannot possibly be compared to the racial slurs that black people and mexicans have endured.

11. "Everyone else, I'm sorry. I don't mean to insult you."
See 9. and 10.

12. "I'm red-headed, and I'm proud of it."
This is a recurring sentence in the video. If he was proud of being a redhead, why would it hurt so bad to be called a ginger? He himself defines a ginger as a redheaded person. My personal opinion is that a lot of T2 got mixed with just enough T1 to handle a camera and post on youtube.

13. "Don't be like that, I have a soul."
Again 1. And again 2. He seems to understand the rules of social interaction in the child/teenage social environment. Here's a clue - They apply to youtube as well.

Well, those are the arguments. I know Coppercap is on some kind of fight of liberation for gingers, but I need to stress, that this is not the right way to further our noble cause.
